Creating Tiles for Lamaze Family Center Children’s Wall with Julie Lubeck-Hofer

Should children be allowed to get their hands all over a project at the new Lamaze Family Center Ann Arbor? Absolutely! Join Julie, member of Lamaze Family Center Ann Arbor’s board of directors in this fun hands-on activity. Your child’s handprint or footprint, name and age will be permanently included in a colorful, artistically arranged installation here at our new location. This is a unique donor recognition project that allows you to leave a lasting impression while helping our nonprofit fulfill its mission. Suggested donation is $50 and is tax deductible to the full extent provided by law.
Parent -Toddler Playtime with Ms. Kim and Ms. Cortney

Enjoy this introduction to the popular Parent-Toddler play groups that have become a mainstay for families here at Lamaze Family Center Ann Arbor. This is a unique opportunity for children (12 to 36 months) and their special adult to spend quality time together playing. Join Ms. Kim and Ms. Cortney to sample some of the activities offered at our weekly playgroups including free play stations, a slide, media table, gross motor movement activities and simple art projects.
Prenatal and Family Portraiture with Cheryl Hall Photography

Special guest and Lamaze Family Center Ann Arbor supporter Cheryl Hall specializes in photographing babies and children in her unique artistic style. Her friendly, gentle nature allows the creation of portraits where personalities shine through! Her fine art prints are produced by the highest quality traditional and classical techniques. As a photographer, Cheryl’s goal lies in creating beautifully unique artistic portraits that become treasured artwork for her clients’ homes. Cheryl has generously offered to photograph portraits of guests on site with all print order proceeds donated to our nonprofit. She will photograph one child at a time and each family will receive a color 4x6 print in exchange for their donation to Lamaze Family Center. Families who "Like" Cheryl Hall and Lamaze on Facebook after purchasing a print will be entered in a drawing for a free session with Cheryl!

Special guest Barb Lindberg, certified massage therapist and long-time Lamaze Family Center Ann Arbor supporter, will offer chair massages, mini-relaxation treatments and related-therapeutic products in exchange for donations to our nonprofit.

Signing Smart Baby Sign Language with Kathy Brady
Ever wonder what your baby is trying to tell you? Join us to sign, sing, and play, and help your child to communicate in this fun preview class! Learn to sprinkle family-friendly American Sign Language (ASL) signs into everyday activities and songs. Bring your hearing child (age 6 months-2 years) and start signing in a way that is easy, fun, and successful. Certified instructor Kathy Brady teaches beginner and advanced Signing Smart classes at Lamaze Family Center Ann Arbor.
The Art of Roughhousing with Anthony DeBenedet
In this fun and interactive workshop, Dr. DeBenedet, an Ann Arbor-based physician, Lamaze father of three and author of the book, "The Art of Roughhousing: Good Old-Fashioned Horseplay and Why Every Kid Needs It” will talk about the importance of parent-child play in development, bonding and trust-building. He will also give a hands-on demonstration of some great moves for parents and children to use. His book contains over 70 different activities and also delves deeper into the benefits of parent-child roughhousing and horseplay. Dr. DeBenedet has been featured on the Today Show and in Parents magazine and offers workshops on select dates right here at Lamaze Family Center Ann Arbor as a proud Lamaze dad!
Robinsongs Music Together with Robin Robinson
Bring your children and join Robin Robinson for an hour of musical fun. Music Together strives to create a fun, informal, social setting that spurs engagement and supports each child’s musical development. Robin holds a B.F.A and has been the director and teacher of Robinsongs for 8 years. Prior to teaching, she was singer songwriter and musical theater actress, performing on Broadway and around the world. Robin believes wholeheartedly in the Music Together principle that “everyone is musical”.
Car Seat Safety/Baby Wearing Mini-Workshop with The Little Seedling
Baby wearing is a safe, intimate way to transport your baby. Getting started can be a little overwhelming. The first part of this interactive, hands-on workshop is designed to help you get started. The experts from The Little Seedling will demonstrate some of the different carriers available and give you a chance to try different them for yourself.
The most dangerous thing our children do is ride in a car, and they do it every day. In the second part of the workshop, learn how to protect your most precious cargo from birth through adulthood during every car ride. Child Passenger Safety Technicians Torey and Susan are ready to show you the basics of car seat safety and answer your questions. When you're done, you'll have the opportunity to schedule a car seat check with a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician. You can also register for on of our free monthly Workshops offered at Lamaze that delves in deeper to these two topics.
Infant CPR Basics with Jodie Hughes
In this mini -workshop based on her popular two-hour class offered at Lamaze Family Center Ann Arbor, American Red Cross-certified instructor Jodie Hughes provides an overview of infant CPR. Participants will learn how to prevent and recognize choking, as well as the critical steps to take in the event of a choking incident. This workshop is for pregnant families and those with babies up to 12 months old.
Prenatal Yoga with Marlene McGrath
Marlene McGrath has been studying and practicing yoga in Ann Arbor for over 20 years and teaching yoga for 14 years. After the birth of her first child in 2000, Marlene became inspired to share the benefits of yoga with pregnant women. She completed training in prenatal and postnatal yoga instruction in Seattle in 2001. Along with pre and postnatal yoga, promoting pelvic floor health through yoga is her area of special interest and expertise. This workshop is for pregnant moms. Wear comfortable clothes for ease of movement.
